We greatly support volunteers of any kind. Office support volunteers can serve in the department that best fits their level of skill and interest. Assignments may include receptionist duties, filing, collating, delivering materials, organizing supplies, or computer data entry. If you enjoy office work, are organized and pay attention to detail...then an office position may be right for you. Volunteers that wish to have a great deal of people interaction are encouraged to apply for a position dealing with patients and their families. We welcome all enthusiastic people to volunteer anywhere they feel comfortable.

Doctors’ Memorial Hospital volunteer services is a very warm and friendly volunteer environment. Energetic and positive people are encouraged to apply. With an upbeat attitude, volunteers feel rewarded for enhancing the quality of patient care, as well as providing support services for the professional staff. Volunteers receive the inner satisfaction which comes from helping others and the pride of accomplishment in a job well-done. Volunteers also have the opportunity to learn new skills, to develop new interests, to make friends, and grow in personal understanding.

Re-established in 1993, DMH has developed into an extraordinary volunteer program. The hospital's 45 active volunteers contribute more than 6,000 hours of service annually and donate much needed equipment, furniture and funds and assists with DMH events.

Auxiliary Board of Trustees keep the organization running smoothly and assure compliance with policies.

Front Lobby Desk volunteers greet and assist patients and visitors.

Auxiliary Gift Shop volunteers help customers with purchases and keep the inventory up-to-date.

Auxiliary Gift Shop buyers keep the gift shop stocked and organized.

Outpatient Surgery volunteers assist with transport of patients, gets employee’s meals, makes charts and more.

Medical Records volunteers help organize and file.

Patient Advocates visits inpatients each morning in Med-Surg and helps patients, families and friends, address concerns, answer questions and attempt to make the experience as comfortable as possible for everyone.

Radiology volunteers transport patients and films.

Food Services volunteers distribute meal charge cards.

Flower volunteers make flower arrangements and delivers to hospital departments.

Ice Cart volunteers fill patient’s water pitchers with ice and water.

Auxiliary members can be as active as they like. Members attend meetings, events, takes part in the programs and events. Members are encouraged to volunteer on a schedule that accommodates their busy lives.
