Doctors’ Memorial Hospital continues to invest in advanced imaging technology, expanding the diagnostic services available to patients and healthcare providers in Perry and surrounding communities.

Recent enhancements include 3D mammography with curved paddle technology, DEXA bone density scans with Trabecular Bone Score (TBS) and a new GE NM 830 SPECT nuclear medicine system. Each brings added capabilities to DMH while improving the patient experience.

Enhanced 3D Mammography

DMH’s Hologic 3D mammography system features curved paddle technology designed to distribute compression more evenly for greater comfort. The system also provides enhanced image clarity, including in dense breast tissue, supporting early detection and reducing the likelihood of callbacks or repeat exams.

A More Complete Look at Bone Health

Every DEXA bone density scan at DMH now includes TBS analysis at no additional scan time. In addition to measuring bone density, TBS evaluates bone microarchitecture, providing another piece of information that can help identify fracture risk and guide treatment decisions.

Advanced Nuclear Medicine

DMH’s new GE NM 830 SPECT system provides high-resolution nuclear medicine imaging for a broad range of diagnostic studies. Advanced technology can reduce scan time or dose by up to 25% while providing physicians with detailed images to support diagnosis and treatment.
